  10.           +o With _I_r_i_x _6._4, the default format for 32-bit compiled
  11.             objects is N32.  Given this, the *.sw32 subsystems have
  12.             been merged into the *sw subsystems.

  14.           +o _I_r_i_x _6._4 is based on the _X_1_1_R_6._1 release from the X
  15.             Consortium. The _I_r_i_x _6._2 release was based on _X_1_1_R_6.

  17.           +o New R6 functionality supported in Irix 6.4 includes the
  18.             RECORD extension, the XSYNC extension, and the XC-MISC
  19.             extension.

  21.           +o Extensions supported only on the client-side can only
  22.             be used if the client connects to an X11R6 server that
  23.             supports these extensions (i.e., a non-SGI server). It
  24.             is expected that these extensions will be fully
  25.             supported in a later release of Irix, when the X server
  26.             will also be X11R6 based.

  28.           +o There are no plans to support the X Imaging Extension
  29.             (XIE) and the MIT-KERBEROS-5 authorization scheme which
  30.             were released with X11R6.

  32.           +o _I_r_i_x _6._4 has full support for the new X Consortium
  33.             double-buffering extension, DBE.
  34.  
  35.           +o _I_r_i_x _6._4 supports a new version (rev. 1.1) of the SGI-
  36.             only extension, XSGIvc, for video control of the
  37.             graphics back end. Existing XSGIvc applications should
  38.             still run on an _I_r_i_x _6._4 system. See "man XSGIvc" for
  39.             details.

  41.           +o _I_r_i_x _6._4 supports execution of NMBX double-buffered
  42.             applications, but no longer supports building such
  43.             applications (NMBX was an SGI-only double-buffering
  44.             extension).
